They are humorous, satirical and politically charged. The lyrics mock then president Mohammad Morsi and the political turmoil which was prevalent at this time, whilst asserting the people's power and their belief in the revolution. The Choir Project band relied on large numbers of participants who, together, composed music and wrote lyrics. Most of the band members were amateur singers and the project was based on bringing together people with one thing in common: their passion for singing. The group included members of all age groups and men and women from different parts of Egypt. Each song was considered a “project” in itself and was composed and sung by all the participants who attended the workshop.
