During this period, Morsi's supporters, mainly members of the Muslim Brotherhood, were accused of acts of violence against their civilian opponents. However, they were also the targets of violence by the security forces, which culminated in the massacre of approximately 1000 supporters of Morsi in August 2013. </text>
