Wael Ghonim's DreamTV Interview - Part 2
Subject
TV interview
Description
Several days before former president Hosni Mubarak stepped down, internet activist, Wael Ghonim, gave this emotional interview to Mona El-Shazly, the host of the popular TV talk show, Ashara al-Masa', on DreamTV, following his release from 11 days of secret detention. During the interview, Ghonim, who became known as the administrator of the We Are All Khaled Said Facebook group, broke down crying as images were shown of those killed during the protests. He was so overcome with emotion that he got up and left the studio. The interview was credited at the time with 'galvanising' protesters.
