In the Egyptian popular context, the phrase “Reg‘eit Rima” (Rima is back), implies that someone is going back to their old habits. Here, it is a metaphorical reference to the return of the old military regime. The song satirizes the cliche ́discourse of the military leader who turns into an oppressor. The singer uses puppets to tell the story of the downfall of Morsi and the rise of Sisi, ostensibly narrating a simple story to children in order to teach a moral lesson.

Elmanawehly gained much popularity during and after the 2011 Revolution due to his satirical lyrics and songs. He relies on folk culture, its symbols and motifs, whilst embedding them with new political meaning and messages.
