"Sawra", meaning 'revolution', is a call for people to revolt against oppression and also recalls the slogans of the 2011 Egyptian revolution: "Bread, freedom, social Justice".
This song is part of Ramy Essam's album entitled "A Letter to the Security Council", produced in June 2017. The album's cover is an envelope which has the name and address of the singer (from Tahrir Square), addressed to the UN Security Council.
Ramy Essam shot to fame during the 18 days of the Tahrir Square sit-in in 2011, with his song 'Irhal' ('Leave'). Following the military coup of 2013, Essam was forced to leave Egypt.
